Nice to meet you, IMS JAPAN!
Nice to meet you. This is the “Staff Blog” of embalming company IMS JAPAN inc.
Here we will provide you with customer stories, daily thoughts of embalmers and staff, and useful information about embalming.
The term “embalming” may still be unfamiliar in Japan. Many of you may be asking, “What is embalming? I would like to start by explaining our business and embalming.
What is embalming?
Embalming is a technique for “sanitary preservation of the deceased” that allows the body of a deceased person to be preserved for a certain period of time without dry ice, in a hygienic manner and in a manner similar to the way it was on the day of death. Embalming is widely practiced in foreign countries, and its importance has been recognized in Japan in recent years. We believe that embalming allows the bereaved family to spend their final hours with the deceased with peace of mind and helps them prepare for their final days.
Benefits of Embalming
The main advantage of embalming is that the body is kept safe and clean, and the deceased can be parted with as close as possible to the “as he/she was” figure that was lost due to illness or accident. This allows the bereaved family to spend their time saying goodbye to the deceased while keeping their memories of the deceased vivid.
This allows us to keep the body in good condition until relatives and friends from distant places can gather, making it possible to accommodate those who wish to say their final farewells in person….
With Japan’s declining birthrate and aging population, some of you may have heard the news about the shortage of crematoriums. As people are forced to wait for their turn to be cremated, we, too, feel the growing demand for embalming services that can safely preserve the remains of the deceased.
About IMS Japan
Since opening the first embalming center in Japan in 1988, IMS JAPAN has seen many bodies go to their final resting place.
Through embalming, we are committed to being close to the bereaved family so that they can spend their final farewell time with as few regrets as possible.
We believe that our role is to help the family say goodbye to the deceased in his or her former state of health, and to help the family send the deceased off peacefully.
